Ramen Ichiban-Kan - Malate

After working out at the gym with some of my friends that night, we decided to have dinner at a friend's restaurant owned by their uncle. This would be my second time eating at this restaurant.

It was a Japanese ramen house located along Malate. The restaurant is not noticeable at first since most of its neighboring business shops are all exclusive beer/entertainment houses ( if you know what i mean) for foreigners mostly Japanese and Filipinos with money to burn.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted "Irasshaimase!" or welcome in English by waitresses wearing yellow uniforms. The restaurant had only few customers at the time and were mostly Japanese.

The specialty of the restaurant of course is ramen, the menu also contained many different authentic Japanese dishes.

Free Iced Tea! too sweet if you asked me, lol

A cabinet display of Saki bottles? not sure lol

It didn't took long till our orders came, around 10-15 minutes.

Gyoza P170

The gyoza was actually given to us free, hehe. It was big and the filling was generous, adding this with your ramen or main dish is a definite must.

Shuyu Ramen P260

Gomoku Ramen P300

As you can see the ramen dishes are huge and can be good for 2 people sharing. It had lots of ingredients, both of my friends had a hard time finishing their dishes and they were both guys who just worked out from the gym. lol.

Katsudon P300

I had the katsudon since the last time I ate here I already had the Karubi ramen and I was told that this is one of their best sellers. The dish was served hot and it was big and had generous amount of pork cutlet, egg and rice. It was really filling and I can say one of the better katsudon dishes I have eaten. A deserving meal after a hard workout in the gym since Katsu is a homophone of the verb 'to be victorious'.

Our bill, we actually only paid 50% since their uncle was the restaurant's owner. LOL

Last Thoughts:

If you are into ramen and love Japanese food and live nearby, you should try eating at this place. The prices are very reasonable since I was told most of their ingredients really come from Japan. The staff are very friendly and even though the place was old it was very clean.

Red Box Buffet and Sing All U Can

We found out that Red Box Trinoma had a Sing and Eat all you Can promo called the Elvis Hour. It was from 11am-2pm for only 299 per person w/out taxes and service charges yet. Since I had friends who just love buffet food and karaoke, what better way to have fun by doing both at the same time!

I was first curious how the buffet would be here in Red Box, I later realized how it was. There were actually only 6 dishes and 1 plate of rice; 1 being dessert, 3 being pork, beef, fish dishes while the other 2 were vegetables.  The style here is when you finished one plate of any dish you can have it refilled. Since we were all guys, we had all the meat dishes refilled several times and none for the vegetable dishes. LOL

We ordered ourselves some soft drinks.

The Fried fish fillet was the most asked for refill dish.

After some rounds of eating, it was time to sing.

Our bill

Last Thoughts:
We were full and we sang all that we can, it was definitely a good deal and worth our money. Their song bank was updated with the latest hit songs and the staff was attentive in refilling our food.  We were definitely satisfied.
