RAMEN LUNCH AT HOKKAIDO RAMEN SANTOUKA AT ISQUARE

We were ecstatic in our first day here in Hong Kong and we were glad that our hotel had a very good location in Tsim Sha Tsui for it was very close to all the malls and tourist hot spots to go there. We arrived at our Hotel a bit early and our room wasn’t ready yet so we decided first to have lunch. We decided to go to iSQUARE Mall which was the closest mall to our hotel. The mall was huge which was 31 storeys high.
The mall was located at the corner of Nathan Road. There is also an MTR located at the malls basement.
The mall has many restaurants but most of them are located at the 6th floor were you will have to ride a lot of escalators to get there.
5th floor of the mall where their giant christmas tree was located.
We decided then to eat here, It looked liked a Japanese style restaurant that served ramen.
The place was small comfortable and warm.
Many people eating their food, mostly ramen and noodle like dishes.
Their food menu.
Pork Cutlet Combo HK$95
This was the dish I ordered, It had a small bow of rice, half boiled egg, and a bowl of noodles that was smaller than their regular orders. The pork cutlet was juicy and tender, it wasn’t oily and salty, the sauce complimented the pork cutlet perfectly. The broth that I choose for my ramen was miso soup. the flavor was good and not spicy, just the way I like it. Best ramen I have tasted so far.
Topped with Grilled Salmon Combo HK$80
My sister ordered this dish, it had grilled salmon toppings on the small bowl of rice, half boiled egg and small serving of ramen. Her ramen has a different broth than mine. She had a spicy fermented soybean paste soup, the spiciness was just right cause she likes spicy food. The grilled salmon was also really good and fresh.
Coca-cola bottle HK$9
Her first coke in Hong Kong. Lol.
Orange Juice HK$9
I had the orange juice, it was very fresh and sweet.
Final Thoughts
Very good ramen, Their tsukemen also looked good cause it was ordered by the table next to us. Even though its Japanese food and not Chinese/Hong Kong cuisine, its a definite must try if you are going to Hong Kong. The best ramen Iv’e tasted so far.

Breakfast for Dinner at Flapjack’s

My sister and I love to eat pancakes and waffles but we usually wake up past breakfast time to have them and most fast food restaurants only serve breakfast until 10:30 am. So instead, we decided to have breakfast for dinner!  Therefore we decided to eat at Flapjacks.

Flapjack’s Food Menu

Good Morning in different languages paper place mat.

They have more staff around than people eating. Lol.

Green Apple Quencher P95
Sweet taste of green apple, I think the blended ice used was also made of green apple.

Raspberry Quencher P95
Raspberry, it was also sweet but I didn’t like the taste but it was fine with her.

The Original Hash Brown Burger P355

Flapjack’s burgers are made with all 100% Black Angus Patties  so I decided to order one of their burgers for I haven’t ate an Angus burger so this would be my first time. My dish was made with US Angus Beef patty with fresh tomatoes and lettuce topped with hash brown and American cheese with a side of fries. Definitely one of the best burgers I have tasted! The Angus beef patty was really different from all the burger patties I have tasted, it’s like once you’ve tasted this burger, no burger will ever satisfy you ever again, unless it’s a higher kind of beef patty which is Wagyu Beef or Kobe Beef which I have yet to try. The American cheese melted on top of the hash brown was good also with the Angus burger, The Fries was too but I was more focus on my Angus burger.

Good OL’ Bacon ‘N Eggs P285

My sister had this dish which is in their whole day breakfast menu. It had premium fried bacons with two eggs of your style (she had one scrambled and one sunny side up), hash brown and toasts. She said the bacons were perfect, just the right crispiness and taste that she was looking for.

Homemade Waffles (Fancy Trio) (Blueberry) 2 Waffles P285

We decided to have waffles for dessert with the fancy trio topping Blueberry (Blueberry sauce, whipped butter and maple syrup. There are also other 2 choices which are Nutty Banana (butter sautéed bananas, pecans, whipped butter and maple syrup) and Chocolate Overload (chocolate chips, chocolate syrup and whipped butter). The waffles are good, definitely their specialty; the sweetness was just right and the blueberry were perfect with the waffles, you don’t need to put any maple syrup.

Last Thoughts

Good place to eat breakfast all day with different choices from their breakfast menu with delicious waffles and pancakes. If you’re not into having breakfast for lunch or dinner, they still have many different dishes in their menu like burgers, Fried Chicken, US rib eye steak, bbq spare ribs and many more! You should really try this place, nice ambiance for eating, good service and attentive staff.

Casual French Food at French Baker

My sister and I just finished attending the every Thurs. mass and novena at the national shrine of St. Jude at around 8pm so we decided to go to the nearest mall to have our dinner which was at SM Manila.

We decided to eat at the newly renovated French Baker there. We have already eaten many times in this place and we both agree that their food is really good especially their pastas, and the chicken ala king. The French Baker here is now separated; the other side is where you can buy the different breads like muffins, croissants, Scones, etc. and the other side is where you can dine and eat different dishes in their menu.

The Menu outside

Their food menu is mostly french food like pastas, pizza, salads, etc. must order dishes are the salad starter, soup on a bread bowl, beef lasagna, and chicken ala king.

I liked the Paris designed paper place mat.

We were the only ones eating at that time, It was already 8:30 and the mall closes at 9pm.

German Sausage with Potato Salad P140

My sister ordered the the german sausage with potato salad. The dish was topped with mormay sauce and bacon chips served on a crusty steak roll with a side of cold potato salad.

Fettucini ala Carbonara P140

We were supposed to order the beef lasagna but it was already near closing time so they're were already out of stock. We decided then to order this pasta. The Fettucini pasta had bacon and cheese flavored eggs in the carbanara sauce and a side of foccacia sliced french garlic toast. The pasta was good, better than any carbonara pasta that I tasted. The parmesan cheese and crispy bacon strips were the highlights of this dish.

Chicken Cordon Bleu P189

I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The dish had deep fried roulade of flattened chickened meat with butter and cheese, encrusted bread crumbs in hern suace with mashed potatoes and sided with pan roasted seasonal vegetables and two bread rolls. This is one of my favorite versions of chicken cordon bleu, especially with the hern suace. The melted butter and cheese inside was hot which was good.

Apple Satin Cream Cake P70

I was hoping for Red Cherry or Blueberry Cheese cake but the only cake available was the Apple Satin Cream Cake. The cake had apple bit sauce on the top and was served with whipped cream on the side. The cake was creamy and did taste like apple sweet sauce. The cake was okay I guess, but definitely not one of their strong points.

Water w/ Lemon (Free)
We always order this cause its free, ha-ha. Its just plain water with lemons.

The cooking area.

Some of their bread products for sale.

Last Thoughts

Aside from the delicious affordable breads you can buy here, they also offer an exciting array of foods in their menu that will certainly appeal to your taste buds. They serve French food in a fast food style but still with a casual dining experience. Their food menu is also filled with health choices like salads and the whole grain tuna sandwich so you would be able to stick to a healthy diet. Enjoy Dining!

Delicioso food at Mexicali

We always wanted to try to eat at Mexicali cause we heard that their tacos, quesadillas, burritos were really good and we were kinda craving for Mexican food. The only fast food restaurant that I have eaten Mexican food was at Taco Bell. We decided then to go to Robinson's Galleria for there was a branch of Mexicali there.

The fast food restaurant was simple and small. It had a cozy and relaxing feeling. A good place to enjoy your food.

Their outside menu.

Their Menu, We had a hard time deciding which dish to try cause they all sounded and looked delicious.

Directions on how to eat a burrito.

Grilled Chicken Plate P199 (yellow rice all u can)

I have to say that this dish was really delicioso! The Chicken was grilled just right, it had a mexican kind of style of cooking, a good alternative if your tired of chicken bbq and chicken inasal. The yellow rice was also good and I wanted to have another serving but we still had some quesadilla and nachos to munch on. The side dish was some lettuce with salsa (best salsa ever!) on top which made a great combination with the yellow rice and grilled chicken.

Enchiladas (Ground Beef) w/ tortilla chips and salsa P178

My sister ordered this dish. I had a bite and it was really good! Upon slicing the Enchilada, you can see how good the ground beef was cooked inside and it was hot. Plus the salsa made it even better cause there was kind of a minty taste in it which I can't explain. The Enchilada was covered with salsa ranchera, cheese and sour cream. You can choose if you want chicken, grilled veg. (for vegetarians), cheese, mexican chorizo and ground beef.

Combo Plate 3 (Taco and Quesadilla) P229

There are many combo plates which you can try, like if you want a combination of burrito and taco. We ordered this dish and it had three sauces that were all good! Jalapenos, Salsa, and garlic mayo. You can choose what meat or veg. would be inside your dish, we had our taco with ground beef and our Quesadilla with grilled steak. Best taco and quesadilla I have tasted, for now.

Coke Zero in Can P49

Nothing like a cold can of soda to go with your mexican food.

People enjoying their mexican food.

Final Thoughts

Best Mexican food ever! Better than Taco Bell that's for sure. They still have many mexican foods in their menu that are worth trying and going back for. We would like try next their burrito and fajitas. They say that Ristra's Mexican Grill can rival Mexicali or even beat it, guess I'll have to try to eat there to find out. lol. But for now, I definitely enjoyed my Delicioso mexican food experience here.
