Casual French Food at French Baker

My sister and I just finished attending the every Thurs. mass and novena at the national shrine of St. Jude at around 8pm so we decided to go to the nearest mall to have our dinner which was at SM Manila.

We decided to eat at the newly renovated French Baker there. We have already eaten many times in this place and we both agree that their food is really good especially their pastas, and the chicken ala king. The French Baker here is now separated; the other side is where you can buy the different breads like muffins, croissants, Scones, etc. and the other side is where you can dine and eat different dishes in their menu.

The Menu outside

Their food menu is mostly french food like pastas, pizza, salads, etc. must order dishes are the salad starter, soup on a bread bowl, beef lasagna, and chicken ala king.

I liked the Paris designed paper place mat.

We were the only ones eating at that time, It was already 8:30 and the mall closes at 9pm.

German Sausage with Potato Salad P140

My sister ordered the the german sausage with potato salad. The dish was topped with mormay sauce and bacon chips served on a crusty steak roll with a side of cold potato salad.

Fettucini ala Carbonara P140

We were supposed to order the beef lasagna but it was already near closing time so they're were already out of stock. We decided then to order this pasta. The Fettucini pasta had bacon and cheese flavored eggs in the carbanara sauce and a side of foccacia sliced french garlic toast. The pasta was good, better than any carbonara pasta that I tasted. The parmesan cheese and crispy bacon strips were the highlights of this dish.

Chicken Cordon Bleu P189

I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The dish had deep fried roulade of flattened chickened meat with butter and cheese, encrusted bread crumbs in hern suace with mashed potatoes and sided with pan roasted seasonal vegetables and two bread rolls. This is one of my favorite versions of chicken cordon bleu, especially with the hern suace. The melted butter and cheese inside was hot which was good.

Apple Satin Cream Cake P70

I was hoping for Red Cherry or Blueberry Cheese cake but the only cake available was the Apple Satin Cream Cake. The cake had apple bit sauce on the top and was served with whipped cream on the side. The cake was creamy and did taste like apple sweet sauce. The cake was okay I guess, but definitely not one of their strong points.

Water w/ Lemon (Free)
We always order this cause its free, ha-ha. Its just plain water with lemons.

The cooking area.

Some of their bread products for sale.

Last Thoughts

Aside from the delicious affordable breads you can buy here, they also offer an exciting array of foods in their menu that will certainly appeal to your taste buds. They serve French food in a fast food style but still with a casual dining experience. Their food menu is also filled with health choices like salads and the whole grain tuna sandwich so you would be able to stick to a healthy diet. Enjoy Dining!
