KFC certified aficionado

I can’t count how many times I have eaten at KFC. It’s just that I love their original and hot and spicy flavored fried chicken, especially their mash potatoes, coleslaw and their famous gravy where some people would ask for a plate and then fill it with gravy (considered also as soup to other people).

KFC new products, Chili Lime Chicken and Double Down.

KFC Krushers with their Christmas Holiday flavors, Choco Peppermint and Black Forest.

Employees of KFC preparing orders from the customers.

KFC 2 pc. Wing Meal (Chili Lime) P100
I had the chili lime chicken; unfortunately they didn’t have any thigh or breast part so I ordered the 2 pc. wing meal. This would be my 2nd time to try it and I can say it’s really good. The chicken were covered with chili lime powder, at first I didn’t liked the concept of sprinkled powder on the chicken but the 2 flavors of Chili and Lime was a new twist for KFC and I enjoyed it. Just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness.

Double Down P100 ( ala carte ) P115 ( w/ drink ) P135 ( sidings and drink )
My sister had the double down, it was recently released here and sold like hot cakes because every KFC store had it out of stock so it was a very hard finding product, but fortunately there was still some at this KFC store. The dish made up of two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken fillets (Original Recipe or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, cheese, mayonnaise and a special sauce. A definite no-no for people on a diet or have high cholesterol. Anyways, One cheat meal won’t hurt I guess. Lol. Anyways it’s too salty, considering the fact that it had 540 calories, 32g fat, and 1380 sodium.
Regular Fries
KFC stills have the best fries than McDonald’s and Jollibee, especially with their famous gravy. Lol.
Krusher Choco Peppermint P65 (ala carte) P40 (Upkrush)
I had my drink upkrushed to one of their Christmas holiday flavors which was Choco Peppermint. There were really a lot chocolate bits in this drink, The peppermint taste wasn’t strong but there’s still the peppermint feeling after each sip. Overall, it was really chocolatey and delicious. Each sip made me feel the Christmas Holidays. Lol.
People enjoying their KFC dinner.

Final Thoughts
KFC will still be my favorite fast food chain, Chicken McDo of McDonald’s and Chickenjoy of Jollibee is still no match for the chicken of KFC. Lol. Just don’t always eat at this place because well, the menu is not really healthy with all the salty and fatty chicken. It’s still always good to have a cheat meal once in a while to keep you sane from all the dieting and healthy foods. Just remember Kapag Fried Chicken. KFC!

Christmas Season at Starbucks

I don’t usually like drinking coffee or too much sweet drinks or food cause of the caffeine, high sugar and not to mention the ridiculous calories in these drinks. Nonetheless my sister and I went to Starbucks to try their drinks and food that were only sold in a certain period of time during Christmas season and plus, she was only two stickers away to getting her 2011 Starbucks planner.

Some people ordering and enjoying their beverages.

Their Christmas season menu.

                                       Praline Mocha Frappe( (Grande) P160
I ordered one of their Christmas drinks which was Praline Mocha Frappe. It had the taste of Mocha flavor and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. A very sweet and cooling drink that has a chocolatey taste in it.

                                            Toffe Nut Frappe (Grande) P160
One of her favorite beverages in Starbucks is the Toffee nut frappe. There are small toffee nut bits. She says that the toffee nut gives a taste caramel sweetness. I’m guessing it’s the same taste as the caramel frappe but with sprinkles of tiny toasted nuts on top that has some buttery toffee taste.

                                                 Gingerbread cookie P50
The Gingerbread cookie was in the shape of a polar bear. I was kind of hesitant in eating the poor polar bear ha-ha but It looked so good I had to bite the head off first. The cookie was tasty, especially the hard icing part but was too sweet and not a good combination with the frappe. I guess it would go better with be hot coffee or maybe their tea products.

                                                   Toffee Nut Loaf P45
The toffee nut loaf was good and sweet, especially the nut that tasted like toffee candy. It tasted like a fusion of cake and brownie, just better.

                                             Velvet 2011 Starbucks Planner
My sister was able to get her Starbucks planner; her first choice was the wood variety but was not available so she chose the velvet one. The other variety available is the metal. These planners are only available during the Christmas season and you have to drink a certain amount of drinks and collect stickers to attain the said planner. Not only do you get the planner, you will also have helped the Starbucks foundation Spark Hope.

Final Thoughts
Starbucks is really a great place to hang out with your friends if you want to drink coffee and hangout and talk about stuff. The ambience and music is really nice, especially this Christmas season were Christmas songs are played and Christmas decors are shown. There’s nothing like feeling the Christmas spirit with some Christmas beverages and food.

Japanese Burgers at Sango! The Burger Master

It was Sunday so me and my sister decided to go the mall to do some shopping and have our afternoon snack and maybe get some coffee after in the evening. I was also looking forward to buying my Jordan Hoody. We decided to go to Shangri-la mall because there were always few people there. I was able to buy my Jordan hoody so afterwards we went to look for a place to eat.
We saw this restaurant which looks like a Japanese restaurant that sells burgers.

They have a large array of burgers in their menu. We decided to eat here for the burgers look mouth-watering enough for us to be tempted.

The counter was located outside.

After ordering we decided to seat inside. There’s a T.V. there showing a movie of Doraemon, unfortunately it’s in Japanese and no English subs.

Not much people eating, just the two in the background and some couple of people a while ago when I was ordering.

I ordered the Master Cheese Burger which was recommended by the employee at the counter.  The picture was good, hope the burger tastes even better.

                                             Cold Lemon Ginger (Large) P65
Our drinks came first. Ha-ha I was curious what would this drink taste like and I wasn’t expecting that much but I was surprised by the taste. It had a kind of biting tarty flavor which made it delicious. A good combination with the burger and fries.

                                                  Green Tea (Large) P50
My sister ordered Green Tea for her drink. She loves Green Tea, hot or cold, preferably unsweetened. There was nothing new. It’s just unsweetened green tea.

                                             Large Master Fries P125
The fries were good but nothing to rave about. It was covered with their special meat sauce and small square slices of cheese and some ketchup and white onions at the side.

                                         Master Cheese Burger P155
Japanese? Burger? I was skeptical at first cause burgers are western food and I wasn’t sure if using Japanese ingredients for the burger would be ok. The burger had a slice of tomato, their special meat sauce, some white onions, Japanese mayo, mustard, cheese and beef patty. I was wrong, this burger was good! Really good! The tomato was fresh and the fusion of Japanese mayo and mustard was good. Their special meat sauce was sweet which was great with the beef patty which was juicy and tender. A must try if your new at Sango!

                                           BLT Burger with Cheese P155
My sister ordered a BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) burger with cheese, it was not one of their special burgers but she said it was delicious unlike other burgers. The ingredients were fresh and had the right amount of seasoning unlike other burgers of burger chains that were salty at fatty.

I would like to try next their Yakinuki Rice Burger, It was also recommended by the employee at the counter. The table next to us ordered this. I took the picture of the burger and it is a rice bun burger which looked like has lettuce and beef.

Final Thoughts
The Burgers were really good. The Ingredients were really fresh and they only cook and prepare the burgers upon order. The ingredients are also generous so you will really enjoy your burger. If you like Japanese food and burgers then you should really go here and try it, you won’t be disappointed. Unfortunately they only have few branches. We would definitely go back here to enjoy their Oishii burgers.

A Taste of Heaven at Angel’s Pizza.Pasta.Combo.

I went to the gym late this morning and I finished my work out around lunch time. Craving for pizza for lunch, I went to this pizza store that was not far away from the gym and I decided to take-out some pizza.

The pizza chain was Angel’s Pizza.Pasta.Combo., from what I’ve researched was the old franchise of Domino’s Pizza (so that’s what happened to all the Domino’s Pizza stores in the Philippines). From what I’ve learned, they didn’t renew their contract for Domino’s Pizza since they’ve completely changed their menu and pizza recipe worldwide. Instead they kept the old recipe of Domino’s Pizza and made a new pizza franchise, thus Angel’s Pizza.Pasta.Combo.

I was lucky to realize that they have a promo of buy 1 take 1 from 10am to 1pm and it was 12:10pm, ha-ha just in time. You just have to order any family or big family original hand tossed pizza and you’ll get the same size of pizza and choose from Angel’s Aloha, Cheesy Burger and Angel’s Supreme as your take 1 pizza.

Angel’s Pizza.Pasta.Combo. counter with their food menu. There was only 1 employee and he was the cashier and I think also the one who prepared and cooked the pizza.

There weren’t any customers dining in even though its lunch time. Business must be slow or that they rather have their pizza delivered with the free delivery.

Boxes of Pizza waiting to be opened

Extra Feast (family size) P435
There are 10 choices of original tossed pizza and I decided to buy the family size Extra Feast. If I’m not mistaken it’s the same recipe of Domino’s Pizza and it was called Extravaganzza instead. The Pizza had pepperoni, ham, beef, onion, mushroom and mozzarella cheese. I was right about the taste and it was really the same recipe of Domino’s Pizza! I really love Domino’s Pizza cause it was my favorite pizza chain till all of them slowly vanished. I can’t remember the last time I tasted this pizza recipe and it was so reminiscing.

Angel’s Pepperoni (family size) free from buy 1 take 1, P425 without promo

I Chose the Angel’s Pepperoni for my take 1 pizza. It has generous amounts of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. It was also like the Domino’s Pizza recipe and if I’m not mistaken was called Pepperoni feast instead. Nothing new here, just the old taste of the delicious pizza recipe of Domino’s Pizza.

Final Thoughts

The taste of the pizza was indeed reminiscing and it retained the same taste that I came to loved about their pizzas before when they were called Domino’s Pizza. Even though they retained some of their old recipes of Domino’s Pizza, they added some new dishes to their menu to make their pizza chain more unique. Aside from their 10 original hand tossed pizza they also have 3 Angels double pizza and 2 angel’s double crust recipes.
They also have chicken and liempo meals, as well as pasta meals and combo meal as well as desserts like brownie sqaures. For those who haven’t taste the old Domino’s pizza recipe, well you guys should try it cause it is really good, better than some other pizza chains out there, but with the growing number of different pizza chains out there, there will always be better pizza recipes. It’s just good to recall the taste of the pizza I once loved and yes I did finished the 2 boxes with the help of my sister. Ha-ha.

99 Peso Steaks at Slice N Dice

After working out at the gym, I went to the National Shrine of St. Jude to attend their every Thursday mass and novena. I usually go there at around 8 pm where there are few devotes but I finished early in the gym so being there at 6pm wasn’t typical of me. I was surprised by the number of devotes, maybe because of the nearing board exams of nurses seeing lots of them wearing their shirts of their review centers.

After the mass and novena, it was time for dinner so finding a place to eat near Mendiola would be hard because many devotes would also eat afterwards. I decided then to eat at this newly opened fast food chain that’s not far away from there that served steaks for only around P99 so I asked my sister to meet-up with me at that place.

                                                    SLICE N DICE
This would be actually our second time eating here at Slice n Dice. Their menu is mostly steaks that are cheap that begins at P99.
Our number while waiting for our food with the sauces.
Other people dining and enjoying each others company.
                                                     T-Bone Steak P99
I ordered first the T-Bone Steak at P99, mind you that its only the steak and rice is not included. A cup of rice here is around P21, pricey for a fastfood chain if you ask me. The steak sauce is plain gravy, but that’s what you get for its cheap price. The steak is thin but not bad considering it inexpensive but if you guys are looking for real delicious steaks then this place would not be your forte.
                                              Cheezy Garlic Mussels P65
Ah the Cheezy Garlic Mussels, a must order dish if going to this place. The ala carte is P65 and if you can’t have enough there’s for 2 persons for P129. The Mussels are served in a sizzling plate in butter. The melted cheese on the mussels was very good, but kind of inconsistent cause there was more garlic and cheese last time we went ate there, nonetheless you guys wouldn’t be disappointed in ordering this.
                                                  Sirloin Steak Rice P45
I ordered the sirloin steak rice instead of a plain cup of rice. It cost about P45 and looks like about 1 ½ cup rice fried with sirloin steak bits with gravy on the side. The rice was good and it did taste like steak rice. There are also other types of rice like the chicken steak rice.

                                                    Garlic Steak P104
My sister ordered the garlic steak for P104. It has no difference with my T-bone steak, it has gravy for it sauce and the only difference is the garlic bits on top of the steak. So I’m guessing that it would taste the same as my steak without the garlic bits. Now for the disappointment, her steak wasn’t well cooked and she was kind of mad so she didn’t enjoy her meal. She would have asked it for to be well done but she was sick so she just let it be.
                                                    Root beer Float P35
The Root beer float was P35 pesos. It’s just Root beer soda with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It’s really good but I’d rather have the Float at Mc Donald’s which is only P25.

Final Thoughts
If you guys are tired of eating burgers and fries at fast food chains, then why don’t try eating steaks here instead for a change, just don’t expect too much that this steaks would taste like high priced imported steaks. They have many dishes also in their menu like garlic pork tendorloin, kangkong stir fry, steak salpico and many more. My only complaint was the place for it was small and there were only 10 tables if I’m not mistaken. Enjoy Dining!
